Haiti 2018 | Days 1 & 2
Updated: May 15, 2018
We have had an incredible last couple of days in Haiti at a mission in called, Christianville. You can read more about Christianville on their website: ChristianvilleHaiti.com
The past few days we have had the wonderful opportunity to spend some time at the school that is attached to Christianville.
But, one of our favorite parts of the trip so far has been spending time at Sue's House.
Sue Witt is the Director and Founder of Sue's House, a children's home here on the Christianville property. We were able to spend some time on day one with her at 4:45am preparing to feed the kids breakfast. Sue has such a heart for these kids. Every morning at 5am on the dot, one of the little boys wakes up and wants oatmeal. In fact, he wants three bowls of oatmeal. Every morning, Sue has those bowls of oatmeal ready for him. Right after he finishes eating, he goes right back to bed until breakfast time.
We followed Sue around for most of the day. After breakfast, we had the chance to walk the kids to school and get a lay of the land.
That night we got the opportunity to spend some time with the kids at Sue's home and tell my story. We got to worship together and hear some of the songs they sing.
Today we started out our day at the Christianville School. I was able to speak to about 400 Junior High and Highschool students. It was a wonderful time. They sang beautifully. We
were then given a tour of the Kindergarten through 1st grade unit. After the tour, we went back to Sue's House to visit with the kids some more.
It has been an amazing trip so far and it wouldn't be possible without your continued support. So, thank you. We are so grateful to be a part of what God is doing in Haiti.
